Alphabet is nearing a multi-year agreement to pay Constellation Energy $1 billion or more for nuclear power as technology companies secure electricity for expanding data-center demand.
The agreement could be announced as soon as this week, according to people familiar with the discussions, who asked not to be named because the information is private. Google parent Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and Constellation Energy Corp. (NASDAQ: CEG) declined to comment on Monday.
