Apple eyes India launch of Apple Pay next month with Axis Bank

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is poised to launch Apple Pay in India next month with Axis Bank's credit cards, three sources familiar with the matter said, ahead of a broader lender expansion.
Mumbai-based Axis Bank is India's fourth-largest credit card issuer. It had 16.26 million active credit cards in July, trailing HDFC Bank, SBI Cards and ICICI Bank in terms of issuance, according to Reserve Bank of India data.
