China has signaled it could permit Alibaba (BABA) and ByteDance to buy RTX Pro 5500 workstation chips from Nvidia (NVDA), The Information reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.
China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently asked companies including Alibaba and ByteDance to report their plans to purchase the RTX Pro 5500, according to The Information.
