Expert Statements

Eric Sprink, Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Financial Corporation

“The third quarter better reflects the underlying earnings power of Coastal’s business, following a challenging second quarter for our shareholders. During the quarter we updated our assessment of the affected relationship, including loan portfolio performance, expected credit losses and our assessment of the collectability of amounts due under the partner's indemnification arrangement. The results of that review substantially supported the estimates established at June 30, 2026. I am pleased with the momentum we saw across the segments,”

“Beyond this relationship, we returned to profitability with net income of $13.8 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.89, and our ROA was 1.01%. BaaS program fee income grew to $14.1 million, up $2.1 million, or 17.6%, from second quarter, and $6.3 million, or 79.6%, from the same quarter last year, reflecting the strength and stability of our broader partner portfolio. Our off-balance sheet credit card accounts now stand at 1.3 million, which is approximately 236% more than where we ended the third quarter of 2025, and eight of our active partner programs are in various stages of expanding into additional products. On the community bank side, deposits grew $63.2 million, or 4.0%, to $1.64 billion in the quarter, at a cost of deposits of just 1.54%.”

Eric Sprink, Chief Executive Officer of Coastal Financial Corporation

“We ended the quarter well capitalized, with strong cash reserves and a strong pipeline. I believe the fundamentals of this business remain strong, with solid fee income growth, robust partner activity and continued capital strength, and that we are well-positioned to continue executing on our long-term strategy.”
