Credo's new ZeroFlap (ZF) optical transceivers combine the company's 224G per lane optical DSP with its Kfir200 silicon photonics-based photonic integrated circuit (SiPho PIC) and latest generation PILOT diagnostic and analytics platform. The launch marks a significant milestone in Credo's optical transceiver roadmap, extending the company's proven ZeroFlap reliability architecture to 1.6T port speeds. Credo's ZF transceivers enable operators to rapidly detect, diagnose, and mitigate fiber issues and link flaps before they impact AI workloads.

The launch marks a significant milestone in Credo's optical transceiver roadmap, extending the company's proven ZeroFlap reliability architecture to 1.6T port speeds. These are the first products to incorporate Credo's field-proven DSP with its advanced SiPho PIC. The 1.6T ZF transceivers, available with the PILOT real-time diagnostics platform, enable operators to rapidly detect, diagnose, and mitigate fiber issues and link flaps before they impact AI workloads.

Product Highlights:

* 224G-Based 1.6T Architecture — The ZeroFlap transceiver family is built on Credo's 224G lane technology, delivering 1.6T aggregate bandwidth across 2xDR4, 2xFR4, and DR8 form factors to support the full range of AI scale-out interconnect architectures.

* ZeroFlap Optical DSP — Credo's latest-generation digital signal processor includes OCP standardized ZeroFlap telemetry features and delivers exceptional per-port power efficiency and signal integrity performance, enabling higher density AI cluster deployments without compromising energy budgets.

* Kfir200 Silicon Photonics PIC Integration — The co-optimized pairing of Credo's ZeroFlap DSP with the Kfir200 SiPho PIC enables enhanced optical performance through tight integration of the electrical and photonic domains, reducing insertion loss and improving link margin.

* ZeroFlap Reliability Architecture — Building on the foundation of Credo's 800G ZeroFlap AEC and Optics platform, the 1.6T family extends the same proven reliability architecture to higher port speeds, giving operators confidence that optical link stability and network fabric readiness are maintained as AI clusters scale in size and complexity.

* PILOT Real-Time Diagnostics Platform — Credo's latest generation PILOT platform provides continuous optical link health monitoring, real-time telemetry streaming, and proactive detection of fiber issues and link flaps before they impact AI workloads — directly reducing time to first token and protecting cluster uptime.

* SONiC and Open Switch OS Compatibility — PILOT telemetry extensions reside on network switches and support SONiC and other leading switch operating systems, enabling seamless integration into existing AI data center management and monitoring frameworks.

“Getting an AI cluster online—and keeping it running—starts with a stable network,” said Ameet Suri, VP of Product at Credo. “ZeroFlap Optics constantly monitor every link with built-in telemetry that detects warning signs to notify operators and avoid costly link flaps. That means customers get their clusters running faster and keep them running longer.”

“The 1.6T optical transceiver ramp has begun, with over 11 million forecast to ship in 2026 and more than double that number shipping in 2027," said Scott Wilkinson, Lead Analyst, Optical Components at Cignal AI. “Credo's ZeroFlap transceivers address two critical priorities in scaling 1.6T AI infrastructure deployments reliably: optical link resilience and operational visibility. By harnessing real-time telemetry in the transceiver, Credo is enabling networks to predict and prevent failures before they impact services.”

Credo's 1.6T ZF transceivers are built on a vertically integrated platform that unifies a high-performance optical engine with the company's newest generation of advanced telemetry capabilities, delivered through OCP-standard link health reporting and in-band communication.

This architecture gives network operators unprecedented visibility and control across the optical fabric, making the 1.6T ZF transceiver an essential tool for the teams responsible for deploying, managing, and maintaining AI data center infrastructure at scale.

The ZeroFlap transceiver family enables:

* Bidirectional Remote Telemetry — Harvesting real-time link health data from both sides of an optical link from either endpoint eliminates the need for physical access during diagnostics and dramatically reduces mean time to resolution.

* Remote Firmware Update — Enables firmware upgrades for remote end, allowing operators to deploy the latest features, performance enhancements, and security patches at scale with minimal operational overhead.

* Non-Volatile Event Logging — A built-in network time machine captures and retains historical link performance trends, enabling operators to identify root causes of intermittent issues and make informed decisions about network health over time.

* Broad Network Architecture Support — Flexible deployment across a wide range of AI data center topologies, including configurations requiring fiber shuffle, ensures compatibility with the diverse interconnect architectures found in hyperscale and enterprise AI environments.

* Integrated and Riding Heat Sink Options — Available in both Integrated Heat Sink (IHS) and Riding Heat Sink (RHS) variants to support switch-side and server-side installations, providing the thermal flexibility required across different platform configurations.
