Expert Statements

Christian Milau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eldorado Gold

“The third quarter marked an important step forward for Eldorado. Skouries produced first copper-gold concentrate and McIlvenna Bay continued to ramp up following first copper and zinc concentrate. At Skouries, the ramp-up has taken longer and cost more than we expected, and it is important that we acknowledge that directly. Our focus is on safely completing the remaining commissioning work, achieving commercial production and establishing stable, predictable operating performance. As I begin my tenure as CEO, my focus is on building on Eldorado’s high-quality, long-life asset base and the investments already made, while improving execution consistency, enhancing capital discipline and converting those investments into stronger cash flow and per-share value. Shareholders should expect us to set clear expectations, report transparently on our progress and remain disciplined in how we allocate capital. Beyond the near-term ramp-ups, we have substantial opportunity within the portfolio. Our focus is on maximizing the value of the assets we already own, maintaining balance-sheet strength and financial flexibility, and investing where expected returns justify the capital. As the new operations ramp up and generate increasing cash flow, we expect to have greater flexibility to balance debt reduction, reinvestment and shareholder returns. With Skouries and McIlvenna Bay advancing through commissioning and ramp-up, our priority is to execute the remaining work and translate the cash flow potential of these investments into stronger, sustainable cash generation and per-share value.”
