Google launches $899 Googlebook in high-end laptop market push

Google is taking aim at the high-end laptop market with the $899 Googlebook, an Android-based device built around Gemini AI, phone integration and hardware from five manufacturers.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) priced the new laptop below the MacBook Air’s $1,299 starting price. The company said Googlebook is not intended to replace Chromebooks and is not positioned as a universal laptop for all users.
