“the material's production chain was entirely outside China, from ore through metal refining”

* The U.S. Army is seeking magnets for small drone motors. Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp (NASDAQ: EMAT) reported that it has submitted a capability statement with an Army-specified grade already in commercial production and customer-qualified in South Korea. * That grade sits within an eight-grade portfolio spanning electric vehicles, wind power, aerospace and industrial equipment. Management estimates the categories covered by those grades represent approximately 75% of global sintered NdFeB magnet revenue. * All 57 containers of expansion equipment have now reportedly arrived at Evolution's Pohang site. Following installation and commissioning, annual magnet capacity is intended to rise tenfold to approximately 10,000 metric tons. * The expansion comes as January 2027 defense sourcing restrictions put greater emphasis on traceable, non-China supply chains. The Army submission creates a specific opportunity to pursue, with procurement and Army qualification still ahead.
