Tesla’s Optimus hand bottleneck complicates 1,000-a-week production goal

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has increased Optimus output tenfold to several hundred units a week, but hand assembly, supplier constraints and equipment failures are complicating its goal of 1,000 robots weekly by year-end.

Tesla’s current Fremont-built Optimus V3 uses a lighter chassis, enhanced camera arrays and a more human-like aesthetic than its predecessors. The robot is driven by AI trained on over 500,000 hours of real-world data, according to The Information.
