Alphabet-owned Waymo plans to offer paid robotaxi rides in Singapore in 2028, following vehicle mapping and autonomous testing with human safety drivers scheduled to begin in the city-state in 2027.
The Mountain View, California-based company will bring a fleet of Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicles to Singapore in the coming months. In 2027, trained specialists will manually drive the vehicles to map local roads and learn the city-state’s monsoon weather patterns.
